ontinent. In this uncertain world there is no guarantee that you will return from any journey, large or small. Some intrepid adventurers like the Victorian, Alexander Gordon Laing, who made it all the way to Timbuktu, but sadly never made it back to his homeland of Scotland - he was slain en-route.I write this promotional e-book to introduce the e-book From Blackpool Tower to Timbuktu, (and back again). The main thing I have learnt is a guess at the scope of things that are yet to be learned - a big scope. Travelling to Timbuktu was part of that scope.A significant theme of this book is autobiography in order to describe the motive; the attempt to make art. I see no fixed issues, rather developmental journeys. I hope you glean something here and that may inspire your own endeavours and that you enjoy this promotional e-book, an introduction to the larger e-book, From Blackpool Tower to Timbuktu, (and back again). Jerry GordonI zipped over to Watford and went out for a beer with my brother-in-law, Liam, to his friend, Matthew's pub, The Wellington. We met up with one of Liam's other friends, Barts and Chelsea Blues, Mike.A drive Timbuktu was discussed as we watched sport TV. We bantered about the city of gold in light hearted fashion. Was this pub talk?Another friend, Gus Alusi, was trying to raise funds for FragileX. Gus was the driving force behind this scary venture.Something in the air revealed this was no idle chitter- chatter. Mike and I then said that we’d team up and drive together to Timbuktu - and fly back again. Liam said he'd drive along with his twinner, Eamon, and their brother Seamus. Matthew bought us a round of drinks and teased us that we were as nuts as the salted ones he generously gave away in saucers on his successful bar. We were all in jokey mood, but we also knew that many a truth was said in jest.
